Attaching Wall Mount to Wall

In order to mount the bracket to the wall, you’ll need to find the studs (the 2×4′s used to create the skeleton of your wall). These will offer the necessary support to hold your flat screen on the wall. There are a couple of ways you can find these. The easiest way is to use a stud finder. You can also use a small nail to hammer through the drywall to find a stud. Regardless of your methods, you’ll need to make a mark in the center of the stud walls which will be used (A stud wall is 1.5 inches thick).

Before starting to screw the bracket into the wall, make sure the holes in the bracket line up with the holes you made in the wall.

It’s best to follow the mounting instructions which came with the wall mount. They were printed for a reason and differ between brands and types of mounts. Just remember to use a level to ensure the mount is level and have a helper hold the device while you securely screw it into the wall.

Before you actually mount the flat screen, you should probably make sure the bracket is level. It’s much easier to make changes now than when the televisions on the wall. When you’re ready – have someone help you lift the flat screen and securely mount it on the wall!
